The Prince Siddhartha Statue which was inaugurated by Hon Minister Chamal Rajapaksha on 05th of May, 2009 and the Programme was as follows;
- At 09.00 a.m. Gathering of Guests and Invitees to the Birth Place (Mayadevi Temple).
- At 09.30 a.m. Holy Procession of bringing the Sacred Relics of Lord Buddha from the Birth Place (Mayadevi Temple) to Sri Lanka Maha Vihara, Lumbini.
- At 10.30 a.m. Inauguration of the statue of Prince Siddhartha by Hon. Minister Chamal Rajapaksha
- At 11.00 a.m. Ordination Ceremony of Samaneras headed by Welimitiyawe Kushaladhamma Thero and facilitated by H. E. Thosapala Hewage, the Sri Lankan Ambassador to Nepal.
- At 11.30 a.m. Alms Giving ceremony to new Samaneras and Other invitee Buddhist Monks by Hon. Minister Chamal Rajapaksha and the Delegation
